KONE machine room-less (MRL) elevators are designed to install the motor directly in the hoistway, meaning there is no need for a separate space for the elevator motor and equipment. MRL lifts use either traction or hydraulic elevator technology. Our MRL elevators are built with the KONE permanent magnet motor, eliminating the need for a machine room.
